Your choice about cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to make this site work — your sign-in session, your timezone preference and this choice itself. We would also like to use optional ones. They are off unless you turn them on, and you can change your mind at any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer. See our Privacy & Cookie Policy.

We also count page views on our own server to see which articles are read. It sets no cookie and records nothing about you — not your IP, nothing that could identify you or recognise a later visit — and is never shared. There is nothing to switch off, but you should know it happens.
