Predictions

24 May 2015 17:00 Hull City v Man Utd

Hull City are coming into this game in a desperate position and not only do they need to win this game, they need to hope that Newcastle do not beat West Ham. After stringing 2 wins together against Crystal Palace and Liverpool, Hull have now lost their last 3 league games on the bounce and Steve Bruce’s side now find themselves in 18th place on 34 points and 2 points away from safety. Hull’s recent home record reads an average looking W5, D2, L8

When playing the top sides of the Premier League Hull City’s home record reads a very poor looking W1, D1, L8 and they can be backed at around 3.30. If you do fancy Hull to do well here then they can be backed on the Asian Handicap + 0/0.5 goals at around 2.00.

The recent head-to-head record at the KC Stadium reads Hull 0 wins, 0 draws and Manchester United 2 wins.

The draw can be backed at around 3.75 and this does not look to offer any great value.

Manchester United effectively blew their chances of finishing in 3rd place after drawing 1-1 with Arsenal at Old Trafford last weekend. They have now only won 1 of their last 5 Premier League matches. Currently United sit in 4th place on 69 points and their recent away record reads a reasonable looking W6, D5, L4

When facing teams of Hull’s stature United’s away record reads a decent looking W6, D3, L1 and United can be backed at around 2.20.

As far as goals are concerned then the stats are leaning to unders. When looking at both sides last 10 home and away matches to similar opposition, in the 20 matches, 9 games have seen 3 or more goals, and 11 games have seen 2 or less goal scored. Under 2.5 goals can be backed at around 2.05.

This is obviously a vital match for Hull. When looking at the goal line my ratings and the stats suggest value in under 2.5 goals.  When looking at the match line then the ratings suggest some value in Manchester United.  However with nothing to play for but pride we do not know how United are likely to approach this game and there is always the possibility fringe players could be given an opportunity. Also it should be noted that Manchester United have only won 6 of their away games this season. Here I am basing my selection on the context of the game and I believe Hull will give this a real go and avoid defeat against a Manchester United side who will now already have their sights on next season. So my recommended trade is Hull City +0.0/0.5 goals at around 2.00
