Hertha Berlin started the season in very positive fashion, having beaten Last season’s surprise package Augsburg 1-0 away from home. Last season Hertha escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth, finishing in 15th place just a point above relegated Frieburg. Hertha’s recent home form reads an average looking W6, D3, L6.
When hosting teams of Bremen’s stature, Hertha’s record reads a far from convincing W2, D5, L3 and Hertha can be backed at around 2.15 and this does not look to offer any real value.
The recent head-to-head record at the Olympic Stadium favours the home side, and reads Hertha 2 Wins, 1 Draw and Bremen 0 wins.
The draw can be backed at around 3.50, and my ratings suggest that this offers some reasonable value.
Werder Bremen opened their account with a very poor 0-3 home defeat to Schalke. Bremen finished in 10th place last season, and at one stage they were in a decent position to qualify for the Europa League. Werder Bremen’s recent away form is poor and reads W3, D4, L8.
When facing teams of Hertha’s grading Bremen’s away record is fairly resilient, and reads W3, D4, L3 and Bremen can be backed at around 3.80. If you do fancy Bremen to do well here then you can keep the draw on your side and they can be backed +0.5 goals at around 1.85.
When looking at the goal line which is set at 2/2.5 goals then we have some mixed stats. When looking at both sides last 10 respective home and away games to similar opposition. Then 9 games have seen 3 or more goals scored, 6 games have seen 2 goals, and only 5 have seen 1 or less. The last 2 head-to-head meetings in the Olympic Stadium have been entertaining affairs finishing 3-2 and 2-2. My ratings suggest value in the overs and over 2.0/2.5 goals can be backed at around 1.85.
This is an interesting match up and my ratings suggest value in both the Match and goal lines. Although Hertha have certainly tightened things up since the arrival of new coach Pal Dardal, Berlin have still only won 2 of their last 8 home games. Here the value looks to be with Bremen to avoid defeat on the Handicap.
For my trade I am turning to the goal line. Where once again despite Hertha’s recent defensive improvement, when we look at Bremen’s away record, only 1 of their last 23 away games have seen 1 or less goal scored. With both teams finding the net in 14 of their 17 away matches last season there looks some decent risk v reward backing over 2.0/2.5 goals.
My trade for this game is Over 2.0/2.5 Goals at around 1.85.
