Odds Presentation
Game Analysis
- This will be the 160th Serie A meeting between AC Milan and Roma: the Rossoneri lead by 71 wins to 40 - against no other side have they obtained so many wins in the top-flight.
- However, AC Milan haven't beaten Roma in any of their last five Serie A matches (D3 L2) and have failed to score in both the last two.
- Despite 44 wins and 16 losses against Roma at home in their Serie A history, AC Milan have won only two of their last eight league encounters with the Giallorossi at San Siro , losing four times.
- AC Milan have lost their last three league games - the last time they lost four in a row in Serie A was back in April 1986.
- Over the last eight home league games, AC Milan have never repeated the same result twice in a row - they lost their last fixture at San Siro against Genoa.
- Roma have won their last two Serie A games without conceding - the last time they have won three league fixtures in a row was in November 2014.
- Only Juventus (32) have picked up more points than Roma (30) away from home in this Serie A.
- Seydou Doumbia has scored two goals with his first two shots on target attempted in Serie A.
- Alessandro Florenzi has netted three goals over his last five Serie A appearances - he has netted two goals at San Siro in his career, both against Inter though.
- Alessio Cerci has assisted both AC Milan's last two league goals: since he joined the Rossoneri, he has provided four of their 10 assists in Serie A.
Prediction
This looks like an intriguing encounter, and although Milan have nothing to play for, they are sure to want to put in a good performance against one of the marquee sides. My ratings suggest value in backing Roma on the handicap. However, when facing teams of Milan’s stature, they have only won 3 of the last 10 matches, and as the draw is strong, the risk v reward does not look worthwhile. With this mind, I am going to look to goal line where only 2 of Milan’s last 10 home games against the top sides have seen 3 or more goals. My recommended trade is Under 2.5 Goals at around 1.95.
