Game Analysis

    • Bayern have won six of their seven BL meetings with Augsburg, conceding a total of just three goals. Their only defeat to FCA came 13 months ago (1-0 away), when they had already wrapped up the Bundesliga title.
    • FCB remained without a win in their three league games immediately after securing the title in 2013/14 (2 defeats). Following last week's 2-0 loss to Leverkusen, Bayern now face Augsburg, who handed them their first league defeat of the last campaign.
    • The Munich club are the best home side in the league (40 points), while only Frankfurt have picked up fewer away points (10) than Augsburg (12, the same as 3 other teams). FCA could suffer six consecutive defeats on the road for the first time in their Bundesliga history.
    • This match sees the sides with the two best tackle-success rates in the league go head-to-head (FCB: 53.0%; FCA: 52.3%).
    • The 2-0 loss in Leverkusen was just Pep Guardiola's fifth defeat in his 65th BL game. They have always come after the winter break (2 in 2013/14, 3 in 2014/15) - three have even been after Bayern have already had the title wrapped up.
    • Bayern have already equalled the record of 21 clean sheets in a BL season (set by FCB in 2012/13). The record for the fewest goals conceded in a campaign (18) could still be broken - Guardiola's side have let in 15 goals so far.
    • Robert Lewandowski has scored eight goals in seven BL games against FCA - the Pole has only netted more top-flight goals against Freiburg (10) and Hannover (9).
    • Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, loaned out to Augsburg from FCB in the winter break, has made 17 of his 30 BL appearances in Bayern colours. Markus Feulner, an U19 German Champion with FCB in 2001 together with Philipp Lahm, won the double with Bayern in 2002/03.
    • Markus Weinzierl, who was a Bayern player between 1995 and 1999 (though never made a first-team appearance), will be in the dugout for the 100th time in the BL this weekend.
    • Matthias Sammer and Stefan Reuter played together at Dortmund between 1993 and 1998 (German Champions in 1995 and 1996, UCL winners in 1997), while Reuter played under manager Sammer at BVB from 2000 to 2004 (German Champions in 2002).
