02 Jan 2016 14:45 West Ham v Liverpool
West Ham are coming into this match in some very resilient form. They won their first Premier League match in 9 games when beating Southampton last Monday evening and although they have won none of the previous 8 matches, the Hammers have only lost 2 whilst drawing 6. This victory left West Ham in 8th place on 29 points, and their recent home form reads a mixed W5, D5, L5.
When hosting teams of Liverpool’s stature West Ham’s record reads a decent looking W4, D3, L3 and here they can be backed at around 4.10. If you do fancy the Hammers to do well then you have the option of keeping the draw on your side and they can be backed on the +0.5 goal handicap at around 1.94 and this looks to offer some value.
The recent head-to-head record at Upton Park is mixed and reads West Ham 2 wins, 0 Draws and Liverpool 2 wins.
The draw can be backed at around 3.60 and given West Ham’s recent home and general record has to be given some serious consideration.
Liverpool are coming into this match on the back of consecutive 1-0 wins over the festive period, at home to Leicester and away at Sunderland. These much needed victories have sent Jürgen Klopp’s side up to 7th on 30 points, which is now only 5 points off a top 4 place. Liverpool’s recent away record reads W4, D5, L6.
When facing teams of West Ham’s stature, Liverpool boast an average record that reads W3, D3, L4 and here they can be backed at around a skinny looking 2.01.
As far as goals are concerned, then the stats and my ratings suggest a leaning to overs. When looking at both sides last 10 home and away games to similar opposition, in the 20 matches, 10 games have seen 3 goals scored, 6 have seen 2, whilst only 4 have seen 1 or less goals scored. Over 2.0/2.5 goals can be backed at around 1.90.
This looks a good match to start the weekend. Here my ratings suggest value in the over 2.0/2.5 goals, and this is certainly backed up by the last 4 head-to-head matches that have all seen at least 3 goals along with both teams scoring. So the risk v reward on the Overs looks worth taking on. For my trade I am turning to the home side who are now unbeaten in 7 home games. Here they are coming up against a Liverpool side who are still inconsistent. The draw has to be given serious consideration, and the braver amongst you might want to back this outright at around 3.60. I am going to keep this on my side and my recommended trade is West Ham +0.5 goals at around 1.94.
02 Jan 2016 19:30 Watford v Man City
Promoted Watford are having an excellent season. Here they are coming off a very unlucky 1-2 defeat at home to Spurs where they conceded late in the game. Previous to this Watford took 13 points from a possible 15 and currently Watford sit in 8th place on 29 points. Watford’s recent home record reads a decent looking W4, D2, L4.
When hosting teams placed in the Top 6, Watford’s record reads W2, D0, L3 and Quique Flores’ side can be backed at around 5.20. If you do fancy the Hornets to do well here, then you can keep an element of the 1 goal loss on your side and they can be backed on the Asian Handicap +0.5/1.0 goals at around 2.00.
This is the 1st time that the 2 sides have met in the Premier League in the last 5 seasons.
The draw can be backed at around 4.15 and this looks to offer some very good value.
Manchester City are coming into this match in reasonable form, however their recent home form compared to that away is certainly chalk and cheese. Here Manchester City are coming off a 0-0 draw away at Leicester and currently Manuel Pellegrini’s side sit in 3rdplace on 36 points, which is 3 points behind leaders Arsenal. Manchester City’s recent away form reads W5, D3, L7.
When visiting promoted sides Manchester City’s record reads a reasonable looking W5, D3, L2 and they can be backed at around 1.70 which offers no real value.
As far as goals are concerned then the stats point to Unders. When looking at Watford’s opening 10 home games, then none have finished with 4 or more goals. When looking at City’s away record, then only 3 of their last 15 have again seen 4 or more goals. Here my ratings suggest some small value backing Under 2.5/3.0 goals at around 2.05.
This looks a very interesting match and for my trade I am turning to the Match line, where there looks some value backing the home side. Although Manchester City are rightful favourites they offer no value here. Indeed when looking at City’s away form, they have now not won in 6 and indeed worryingly for Pellegrini they have failed to find the net in 4 of these matches. Here they are coming up against a Watford side that have kept 6 clean sheets in their 10 home matches. The Hornets have also scored 9 goals in their last 5 home games. Watford have only lost once at home this season by 2 or more goals, and that was a 0-3 defeat to Arsenal. Here their looks some decent risk v reward backing them on the handicap, and my recommended trade is Watford +0.5/1.0 goal at around 2.00.
03 Jan 2016 15:30 Crystal Palace v Chelsea
Crystal Palace are having an outstanding season. Here they are coming off a 0-0 draw at home to Swansea. Although this was Palace’s 2nd 0-0 draw on the bounce, they are now unbeaten in 6 Premier league matches. After 19 games Palace now sit 5th place on 31 points, just 4 points off a Champions League place. Crystal Palace’s recent home record reads a fairly average looking W6, D2, L7.
When hosting the mid table sides, Crystal Palace’s record reads a decent looking W6, D2, L2 and they can be backed at around 4.00. If you do fancy Alan Pardew’s side to do well here then you are best keeping the draw on your side, and Palace can be backed on the Asian Handicap +0.5 goals at around 1.86.
The recent head-to-head record at Selhurst Park is mixed and reads Crystal Palace 1 win, 0 Draws and Chelsea 1 win.
The draw can be backed at around 3.50 and this offers some small value and should certainly be given some serious consideration.
After drawing 0-0 at Old Trafford Chelsea have now not lost in 3 matches, and this is their longest unbeaten run this season. At the halfway stage of the season Chelsea sit on 20 points, which is 3 above the relegation zone. Chelsea’s recent away record reads a very average looking W5, D4, L6.
When facing teams of Crystal Palace’s stature, Chelsea’s away record reads a resilient looking W2, D5, L3 and they can be backed at around 2.10 and when looking at my ratings this looks priced too low.
When looking at the goal line then the stats are pointing to Unders. When looking at both sides last 10 home and away matches to similar opposition, only 5 of 20 matches have seen 3 or more goals, 7 have seen 2 goals scored, with 8 containing 1 or less. Here my ratings suggest value in Under 2.0/2.5 goals which can be backed at around 1.93.
This looks a very good match up, and here my ratings suggest value in both the match and goal line. When looking at the goal line, my major concern is that Chelsea have seen 3 or more goals scored in 10 of their last 16 away games. For my trade I am turning to the match line where the draw looks to offer some good value at 3.50. There is no question Palace have been a stronger side away from Selhurst Park and they have been somewhat erratic at home. However here they are coming up against a Chelsea side that have that has only won 1 of their last 10 away matches. All the value is with the home side and in what should be a cracking atmosphere, my recommended trade for this game is Crystal Palace +0.5 goals at around 1.86.
03 Jan 2016 18:00 Tottenham v Everton
Everton are going through a very mixed spell of form at the moment. Here they are coming off a very thrilling 3-4 defeat at home to Stoke City and this defeat has left Roberto Martinez side in 11th place on 26 points, which is now 9 points behind today’s opposition and a Top 4 place. Everton’s recent home form reads a mixed W6, D3, L6 and it should be noted that Everton have only won 1 of their last 6 Premier League games.
When playing teams of Spurs grading, Everton’s record reads W3, D2, L5 and the Toffee’s can be backed at around 2.65.
The recent head-to-head record favours the home side and reads Everton 3 wins, 1 draw and Spurs 1 win.
The draw can be backed at around 3.60 and this should certainly be given some very serious consideration when looking at both sides general form.
Spurs are coming into this game in some very good form. Mauricio Pochettino’s side registered their 3rd win on the bounce after beating Watford 2-1 and currently they sit in 4th place, just 4 points behind leaders Arsenal. Spurs recent away form reads a very resilient looking W6, D6, L3.
When visiting teams of Everton’s stature, again Spurs form reads a positive looking W5, D3, L2 and here they can be backed at around 2.75 and this looks to offer some value. If you do fancy Spurs to keep up their resilient away record, then you are probably best keeping the draw on your side and they can be backed off scratch -0.0 goals at around 2.00.
As far as goals are concerned and with the line set at 2.5/3.0 then there is a leaning to Overs. When looking at both sides last 10 home and away matches against similar opposition. Then 6 of the 20 matches have seen 4 or more goals, 6 have seen 3, and 8 have seen 2 or less. My ratings also suggest value in Over 2.5/3.0 goals which can be backed at around 2.00.
This looks a good game to end the weekend. When looking at the goal line although my ratings suggest value in Over 2.5/3.0 goals, it should be noted that only 4 of Spurs last 16 away games have seen 4 or more goals. For my trade I am turning to the match line where Spurs are extremely resilient away from home, and this season they have only lost 1 of their opening 9 away games. The draw also looks of interest and has been seen in 9 of Everton’s and 8 of Spurs 19 Premier league games this season. Everton have also only won 3 times at home this season, and 2 of these wins were against Sunderland and Aston Villa. Here Spurs look good value to avoid defeat and my recommended trade is Spurs -0.0 goals at around 2.00.
