This Saturday evening sees a Premier League match, when Bournemouth host Man United at the Vitality Stadium. Kick-off 17:30 GMT
Last weekend Bournemouth registered possibly their best result in the clubs history when they defeated Champions Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge. This was Bournemouth’s first win in 9 matches, and the victory sent Eddie Howe’s side into 17th place on 13 points, and they are now just above the drop zone on goal difference. Bournemouth’s recent home record reads W1, D3, L3.
Bournemouth are yet to host any of the League’s elite sides, although they did lose 1-5 to Spurs earlier in the season. Here they can be backed at around 3.50. If you do fancy the Cherries to do well, then you can keep the draw on your side and they can be backed +0/0.5 goals at around 2.00
This is the first time that the 2 sides have met in the Premier League.
The draw can be backed at around 3.50 and this does not look to offer any real value, although given Manchester United’s recent away record to teams of Bournemouth’s stature then it should certainly not be discounted.
Manchester United are coming into this game in some mixed form. Although they have only lost 1 of their last 11 Premier League matches they have only won 2 of their last 6. Here they are coming off a disappointing 0-0 draw at home to West Ham and currently they sit in 4th place on 29 points, which is just 3 behind leaders Leicester. Manchester United’s recent away record reads a reasonable looking, W7, D3, L5.
When facing teams of Bournemouth’s grade Manchester United’s away record again is very resilient and reads W5, D4, L1 and Louis van Gaal’s side can be backed at around 2.25 and this looks to offer some value.
As far as goals are concerned then we have some very mixed stats. In the case of Bournemouth this season, 5 of their 7 home games have seen 2 or less goals. However in the case of United 5 of their 8 away games have seen 3 or more goals scored. Here my ratings that suggest value in over 2/2.5 goals which can be backed at around 1.88.
Potentially this has the makings of a good match up. When looking at the goal line the stats are a little too mixed to make a definite call on the over 2/2.5 goals. For my trade I am turning to the match line where Manchester United have a very strong away record to the promoted sides, which over the past 5 seasons reads W11, D4, L1. Indeed taking this slightly further, when visiting teams of Bournemouth’s stature, United have only lost 4 of 32, whilst winning 21. Here there looks some excellent risk v reward backing United on the handicap. So my recommended trade is Manchester United -0.0/0.5 at around 1.95.
Aston Villa v Arsenal
Aston Villa are enduring a very poor season, and despite gaining a very creditable 1-1 draw away at Southampton, Aston villa have now not won in 14 matches. Saturdays draw has left Remi Garde’s side sitting at the bottom of the table on 6 points, and they are now 7 points from safety. Aston Villa’s recent home record reads a very mediocre looking W3, D3, L9 and it should be noted that they have only taken 2 points from their last 8 home matches.
When hosting the Premier League elite sides Aston Villa’s record reads a poor looking W2, D2, L6 and they can be backed at around 6.60. If you do fancy Villa to do well here then your best option is certainly to keep the 1 goal defeat on your side and they can be backed on the Asian Handicap +1.0 goals at around 1.93.
The recent head-to-head record at Villa Park certainly favours the visitors and reads Aston Villa 0 wins, 1 Draw and Arsenal 4 wins.
The draw can be backed at around 4.30 and this does not look to offer any real value or appeal.
Arsenal are coming into this match having beaten Sunderland 3-1 at the Emirates. This was the Gunners first win in 4 Premier league matches and currently after 15 games they sit in 2nd place on 30 points, which is only 2 behind leaders Leicester. Arsenal’s recent away record reads a solid looking W10, D2, L3.
When facing teams of Aston Villa’s grade Arsenal boast a strong looking W8, D1, L1 and they can be backed at a value looking 1.60. This price can be enhanced and Arsenal can be backed on the -1.0 goal handicap at around 2.00.
As far as goals are concerned then the stats point to Unders. When looking at both sides last 10 home and away matches against similar opposition, 3 or more goals have been seen in 8 matches, whilst 12 games have seen 2 or less goals scored. Despite this my ratings suggest value in the Over 2.5 goals which can be backed at around 1.90.
This looks an interesting matchup and my ratings are suggesting value in both the match and goal lines. When looking at the goal line then 4 of the recent 5 head-to-head matches have seen 3 or more goals and Over 2.5 goals is value.
For my trade I am turning to the match line where there is value backing the visitors. As previously stated Aston Villa have been very poor at home losing 10 of their last 16 home games. However it should be noted that they very rarely get turned over and they have only lost 1 of these matches by 2 or more goals. With this in mind I am not going to take on the handicap and instead go for the straight win in a game where I expect Arsenal to go to the top of the league. So my recommended trade is Arsenal to win at around 1.60
Tottenham v Newcastle
Spurs are coming into this match showing some very resilient and strong form. After drawing 1-1 against West Brom at the Hawthorns, Spurs now sit in 5th place on 26 points, only 6 behind table toppers Leicester. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are now unbeaten in 14 league matches of which 8 have ended all square. Spurs recent home form reads a positive looking W8, D5, L2.
When playing teams of Newcastle’s standing, Spurs record reads a very strong W9, D0, L1 and here they can be backed at around 1.40, and even at this price it looks to offer some value. If you do fancy them to do well then they can be backed on the Asian Handicap -1.0/1.5 goals at around 1.86.
The recent head-to-head record at White Hart Lane is mixed and reads Spurs 3 Wins, 0 Draws and Newcastle 2 wins.
The draw can be backed at around 5.25 and this looks to offer some value.
Newcastle are having a very poor season, however they beat a resurgent Liverpool side 2-0 at St James Park last weekend and this win has left Newcastle in 18th place on 13 points. Despite this victory Newcastle’s away form is dire and their recent away record reads W2, D2, L11.
When visiting teams of Spurs stature, Newcastle’s record reads a reasonable W3, D2, L5. If you do fancy Steve McClaren’s side to do well, then you can keep the 1 goal loss on your side and they can be backed on the Asian handicap +1.0/1.5 goals at around 2.10.
As far as goals are concerned then there is a leaning to Unders. When playing similar opposition in both sides last 10 home and away matches, in the 20 games, 7 have seen 4 or more goals, 4 matches have seen 3 goals, whilst 9 have seen 2 or less. Here my ratings suggest the value is with Under 3.0 goals and this can be backed at around 1.97.
This looks a tricky game to weigh up betting-wise. When looking at the goal line, then the value is certainly with Unders. As previously stated Newcastle boast very poor away form and they have not found the net in 9 of their last 13 away games. Also only 3 of their last 15 away games have seen 4 or more goals, so under 3 goals looks a reasonable shout at its current price. For my trade I am turning to the match line, where potentially Spurs could be in for a comfortable afternoon. They offer some decent value and there is also some good risk v reward backing them on the handicap. Newcastle have also lost 7 of their last 10 away matches by 2 or more goals, and so my recommended trade is Spurs -1.0/1.5 goals at around 1.88.
Leicester v Chelsea
Leicester City are almost unrecognisable from the side that sat bottom off the table this time last season. Such is the transformation that people are now asking can Leicester go on and win the Premier League title. Claudio Ranieri’s side are coming into this game on the back of an impressive 3-0 victory away at Swansea. This win left the foxes sitting on top of the table on 32 points, which is 2 ahead of 2nd place Arsenal. Leicester’s recent home form reads W9, D3, L3.
When hosting the elite sides then Leicester’s home record reads W1, D2, L3 and they can be backed at around 3.30. If you do fancy Ranieri’s side to do well here then you should certainly look to keep the draw on your side and Leicester can be backed on the Asian Handicap +0.0/0.5 goals at around 1.97.
The sides have met just once in the last 5 seasons at the King Power Stadium with Chelsea winning 3-1 last season.
The draw can be backed at around 3.50 and this looks to offer the smallest of value.
When it comes to the Champions then they look to be going in the opposite direction to today’s opponents. Jose Mourinho’s side hit a low point last weekend when going down 0-1 to promoted Bournemouth and this defeat left the blues in 14th place on 15 points, which is just 2 above the drop zone. Chelsea’s recent away record reads a reasonable W7, D3, L5. However it should be noted that these 5 defeats have come in their last 8 away matches.
When it comes to the Champions then they look to be going in the opposite direction to today’s opponents. When visiting teams of Leicester’s stature, Chelsea’s record reads a strong looking W7, D0, L3 and they can be backed at around 2.30.
As far as goals are concerned then the stats point to Overs. 10 of Chelsea’s last 15 away games have seen 3 or more goals, as have 7 of Leicester’s last 11 home games. Here my ratings suggest some decent value in backing Over 2.5 goals at around 1.95.
This should be another exciting evening at the King Power stadium. Although my ratings are suggesting value in looking for goals, 4 of Leicester’s 6 home games hosting the elite sides have seen 2 or less goals scored. For my trade I am turning to the match line where there looks some excellent value in backing the home side. Leicester have only lost 2 of their last 24 league matches, and they have also won 6 of their last 8. Here they are coming up against a Chelsea side that have only won 2 of their last 9 League games (v Villa & Norwich) whilst losing 5. Although there has been some improvement in Chelsea’s defence recently they have now only scored once in 4 League matches. My ratings are suggesting excellent value in backing Leicester to avoid defeat, and my recommended trade is Leicester City +0.0/0.5 goals at around 1.98.
