Pochettino is concerned about the workload being lumped on some of his players, having already confirmed that Danny Rose, Mousa Dembele and Kyle Walker have not travelled to Azerbaijan for the Europa League clash on Thursday.
And the Argentinian still has a decision to make over the likes of Kane, Eric Dier and Dele Alli, who all recently impressed for England during the international break - with Kane having scored eight times in his last five Spurs outings.
He said: "We will see if Kane plays. This is a problem we have had in the last few weeks, the international players play a lot; Kane, Alli, Walker and Dier.
"The competition is very tough and it's not easy to manage that, but always we try to assess and analyse to make the correct decision. This is a very important game, one that we need to win."
Spurs go into the game in Baku in top spot in Group J, knowing that a win would ensure progress to the knockout stage of the competition with a game still to play, which would give Pochettino an opportunity to rest some of his squad.
