United given boost for game against PSV

Manchester United have been boosted by the news Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial have both trained ahead of Wednesday's encounter with PSV Eindhoven.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Michael Carrick and Luke Shaw all missed the training session on Tuesday but there were encouraging signs for Rooney and Martial.

England skipper Rooney had been struggling with illness, while Martial's foot injury picked up on international duty with France did make him a doubt for the Champions League encounter at Old Trafford.

However manager Louis van Gaal will have welcomed seeing Rooney and Martial in training before another big game in Europe.
