England international Vardy has found the net in each of his last nine Premier League appearances and will tie the record of Ruud van Nistelrooy if he does so again against the Magpies at St James' Park.
However, Netherlands wing-back Janmaat is eager to prevent Vardy from securing a share of the record held by another Dutchman and in the process help the Magpies move further away from the wrong end of the Premier League table.
He told the local media: "We will be doing everything so that he won't be scoring against us. I hope we can stop him, but we know that won't be easy as he is so quick.
"Whoever is up against Vardy, we'll have to be ready for him. It's not just that pace - he's a good player and very confident right now. He is doing so well for Leicester.
"He has scored nine in a row and he will be looking to continue that against us."
Vardy's run of success started in the 1-1 draw at Bournemouth at the end of August and he has since scored against every team he has faced in the English top-flight, including two against both Arsenal and Southampton.
