German coach Michael Skibbe has been appointed the new manager of Greece, the Greek Football Association has announced.
The former Bundesliga manager has signed a two-year deal with an option to stay on if Greece qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
In the wake of Greece's failure to reach Euro 2016, the 50-year-old German will take over for his first match on 13th November in a friendly against Luxembourg.
Skibbe, who previously managed Borussia Dortmund, is the second German coach to have taken charge of the Greek national team. He follows in the footsteps of Otto Rehhagel, who led the country to the biggest success in their history by winning Euro 2004.
