Predictions

31 Oct 2015 14:45 Chelsea v Liverpool

Can Klopp take advantage of a struggling Chelsea? Chelsea host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Kick-off is at 12:45 GMT.

Chelsea v Liverpool

It's the 'Special One' vs. the 'Normal One' this Saturday. Jose Mourinho's side crashed out of the League Cup to Stoke during the week, and Klopp has recorded 3 draws and 1 win since his start at Liverpool. Which team can improve their form and take a win?

Chelsea are coming into this match in some very patchy form. The Blues have now won just 3 of their league matches this season, and are coming off a 2-1 defeat away at West Ham. This result left Jose Mourinho’s side sat in 15th place on just 11 points, which is 11 behind the leaders Manchester City. Chelsea’s recent home record reads a reasonable-looking W8, D5, L2.

When hosting the 2nd tier sides of the Premier League, Chelsea’s record reads a fairly average-looking W5, D4, L1, and here they can be backed at around 2.08 which looks priced about right.

The recent head-to-head record at Stamford Bridge is fairly mixed and reads Chelsea 1 Win, 2 Draws, and Liverpool 2 Wins.

The draw can be backed at around 3.55 and this should be given some serious consideration.

Liverpool are still looking for their first league win under new manager Jurgen Klopp, and here the Reds are coming off a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton. Liverpool have now only won 1 of their last 8 league matches, and that was at home to struggling Aston Villa. Currently they sit in 9th place on 14 points and their recent away record reads W5, D6, L4.

When facing the Premier League elite sides away from home, their record reads a very average-looking W0, D3, L7, and Liverpool can be backed at around 3.90. If you do fancy them to do well, then you can keep the draw on your side and they can be backed on the +0.5 handicap at around 1.86.

As far as goals are concerned, then we have some extremely mixed stats. When looking at both sides' last 10 home and away games against similar opposition, in the 20 matches, 12 games have seen 3 goals or more and 8 matches have seen 2 or less. However, 13 of Liverpool’s last 16 away games have seen 2 or less goals scored, as have 10 of Chelsea’s last 15 at home. My ratings suggest value in under 2.5 goals which can be backed at around 1.89.

This is a fascinating encounter, and on both the match and goal lines, there are mixed stats running throughout. Here the attention will certainly be on the 2 managers, especially Jose Mourinho who will be desperate for the victory to keep Chelsea’s title hopes alive. Here the draw looks good value at around 3.55, especially given the fact that Liverpool have drawn 4 of their last 5 league games.

For my trade I am turning to the goal line, where although when facing similar opposition the stats point to goals, the value is certainly with the unders. As we have seen, 13 of Liverpool’s last 16 away have seen 2 goals or less and in 4 of their 5 away games this season, the half-time score has been 0-0. Here I expect another tight affair which neither team will want to lose and my recommended trade for this game is Under 2.5 Goals at around 1.89.

01 Nov 2015 15:30 Everton v Sunderland

This Sunday afternoon in the Premier League Everton take on struggling Sunderland at Goodison Park. Kick-off is at 13:30 GMT.

Everton v Sunderland

Everton are coming into this match on the back of a 2-1 loss away to Arsenal, and Roberto Martinez' side have only won 1 of their last 5 league matches. However, they have faced last seasons top 6 sides in their opening 10 matches. Currently Everton sit in 11th place on 13 points and their recent home record reads a fairly average looking W5, D6, L4.

When hosting teams of Sunderland’s stature Everton’s record reads W4, D4, L2 and they can be backed at around 1.51 and this looks priced a little low.

The recent head-to-head matches at Goodison Park is mixed and reads Everton 3 wins, 0 draws, and Sunderland 2 wins.

The draw can be backed at around 4.60 and this looks to offer some decent value, especially when taking into account Everton’s recent form, both generally and against similar opposition.

Sunderland are coming into this match, having registered their first victory (3-0) of the season at home to great rivals Newcastle. Previous to this Sunderland have only took 3 points from their opening 9 matches, and currently they sit in 18th place on 6 points. Sunderland’s recent away record reads a very poor looking W1, D5, L9.

When facing teams of Everton’s Grading Sunderland’s away record reads a reasonable looking W3, D5, L2 and they can be backed at around 7.00. If you do fancy the Black Cats to do well here then you can keep the 1 goal loss on your side and they can be backed on the handicap +1.0 at around 2.10.

As far as goals are concerned then the stats are pointing to a low scoring encounter. When looking at both sides' last 10 home and away matches to similar opposition we can see that in 20 matches 2 have seen 4 or more, 2 matches have seen 3 goals and 16 have seen 2 or less. Looking at Sunderlands away record then 9 of their last 13 away games and 9 of Everton’s last 15 home games have seen 2 or less goals. Under 2.5/3.0 Goals can be backed at around 1.95.

After registering their first victory of the season, Sunderland fans will be hoping that Sam Allardyce can once again weave his magic and guide them out of the relegation zone. Here there looks value in both the match and goal lines. Everton are rightly favourites, however they are priced too low, and it should be noted that Everton have only won 3 of their last 16 home games by 2 or more goals. For my trade I am turning to the goal line, where 8 of Everton’s last 10 hosting the bottom sides and 8 of Sunderland’s last 10 away to the mid table sides have seen 2 or less goals scored. With Allardyce looking to address Sunderland’s recent defensive frailties, there looks some decent risk v reward backing unders. So my recommended trade is Under 2.5/3.0 goals at around 1.95.

01 Nov 2015 18:00 Southampton v Bournemouth

This Sunday afternoon Southampton entertain promoted Bournemouth at St Mary's. Kick-off is at 16:00 GMT.

Southampton v Bournemouth

Southampton have made a reasonable start to the season, and they are coming off a very creditable 1-1 draw away at Liverpool last weekend. The Saints have now only tasted defeat once in their last 8 Premier league games, and currently they sit in 8th place on 14 points, which is 6 points from a Top 4 place. Southampton’s recent home record reads a reasonable looking W7, D4, L4.

When hosting teams of Bournemouth’s grading, Southampton’s home record reads a decent and strong looking W8, D1, L1 and the Saints can be backed at around 1.56. When looking at my ratings this looks priced a little low.

This is the first time the 2 teams have met in the Premier League.

The draw can be backed at around 4.30 and this offers some small value.

Promoted Bournemouth are coming off successive 1-5 defeats at home top Spurs and away at Manchester City. Bournemouth have now only won just 1 of their last 7 Premier League matches and that was a 2-0 home victory over Sunderland. Currently Bournemouth sit in 17th place on 8 points, and their recent away record reads W1, D0, L4.

Here Bournemouth can be backed at around 7.00. However if you do fancy Eddie Howe’s team to do well here then you are certainly best keeping the 1 goal loss on your side and ‘The Cherries’ can be backed on the +1.0 Asian Handicap at around 1.95 and this looks to offer some value.

As far as goals are concerned then the recent stats suggest that the game could be high scoring. All 7 of Southampton’s last 7 home games have seen 3 or more goals, as have 4 of Bournemouth’s last 5 away games. When Southampton have hosted teams of Bournemouth’s stature then 4 of their last 6 home games have seen 3 or more goals. My ratings suggest value in Over 2.5 goals which can be backed at around 1.83.

This looks as though it could be an entertaining encounter. Here my ratings suggest value in both the match and goal lines. When hosting teams of Bournemouth’s stature Southampton have won their last 5 by 2 or more goals. Despite this and Bournemouth’s recent heavy defeats my ratings suggest that they should only be receiving around three quarters of a goal.

For my trade I am turning to the goal line, where this season Southampton have already conceded 9 goals in their opening 5 home matches. When looking at Bournemouth, they themselves have conceded 14 goals in their opening 5 away games, with both teams scoring in 4 of these 5 matches. Here my ratings are suggesting that the goal line should be set nearer 2.5/3.0.  So my recommended trade for this game is over 2.5 goals at around 1.83.

02 Nov 2015 22:00 Tottenham v Aston Villa

This Monday evening Tottenham host struggling Aston Villa at White Hart Lane. Kick-off at 20:00 GMT.

Tottenham v Aston Villa

Spurs are coming into this match in some very decent form. Last weekend they thrashed promoted Bournemouth 5-1 and they are now undefeated in 9 Premier League matches. Currently they sit in 6th place on 17 points and their recent home record reads a strong looking W8, D5, L2.

When playing teams of Villa’s standing, Spurs record reads again a strong looking W8, D1, L1 and here they can be backed at around 1.45, and even at this price it looks to offer some value. If you do fancy Mauricio Pochettino’s side to do well then they can be backed on the Asian Handicap -1.0/1.5 at around 1.98.

The recent head-to-head record at White Hart Lane favours the home team and reads Spurs 4 Wins, 0 Draws, and Aston Villa 1 Win.

The draw can be backed at around 4.80 and this looks to offer no real value, or indeed appeal.

After losing 6 Premier League matches on the bounce, Tim Sherwood has left Aston Villa, and they now look a team in turmoil. Here they are coming off a 1-2 home defeat against Swansea, and Villa now sit bottom of the table on 4 points. Aston Villa’s recent away record reads a very poor looking W3, D0, L12.

When facing teams of Spurs stature, Villa’s record reads an average looking W3, D1, L6 and they can be backed at around 8.50. If you do fancy them to do well then you can keep the 1 goal loss on your side and they can be backed on the Asian handicap +1.0/1.5 at around 1.96.

As far as goals are concerned then there is a leaning to overs. When playing similar opposition in both sides last 10 respective home and away matches. In the 20 games, 12 have seen 3 or more goals, whilst 8 have seen 2 or less. When looking at Spurs recent home record, then 8 of their last 14 home games have seen 3 or more goals scored as have 8 of Aston Villa’s last 13 away games.  Here my ratings suggest the value is with Over 2.5 goals and this can be backed at around 1.83.

This looks as though it should be a relatively comfortable evening for Spurs where they look value to win this game. Aston Villa have been terrible away from home recently, having lost 13 of their last 16. However they have only lost 4 of these 13 by 2 or more goals.

For my trade I am turning to the goal line, where my ratings suggest value in over 2.5 goals. Despite Villa’s current plight they have scored in 9 of their last 10 away games. The ratings suggest a 60% chance that Villa will score here and here overs looks a reasonable shout. So my recommended trade for this match is Over 2.5 goals at around 1.83.
