Atletico Madrid is the favourite to win the game but the odd for doing so (1.50-1.60) is, as far as I am concerned, too low and doesn’t reflect the difficulties that Atletico may face in it. Valencia did suffer 2 defeats in its last 2 away games but these were the only 2 defeats in 8 games this season while Atletico hasn’t won 2 of its 4 so far home games this season and has picked up 4 points in its last 3 games.
It should be mentioned however that within its 4 home games, Atletico has hosted Real Madrid (1-1) and Barcelona (1-2) while it has also faced Villareal away from home about a month ago, losing it with 1-0. Nevertheless, these results do show that Atletico does have an issue with teams that are close to it on the league table.
