Update on injuries

Others

Long to miss Leicester game: Southampton will be without Shane Long for the visit of Leicester after the forward injured ankle ligaments while on international duty. Midfielder Jordy Clasie, however, seems in line to make his EPL debut, having been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury in July's Europa League victory over Vitesse Arnhem. Southampton's only other absentees are long-term injury victims, goalkeeper Fraser Forster and defender Florin Gardos.

Aguero out for an entire month: Sergio Aguero will be out for four weeks following his injury on international duty. The Manchester City striker has scored six goals this season, five of which came against Newcastle a fortnight ago. But he suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Argentina against Ecuador in a World Cup qualifier last week. City are also without David Silva after the forward was forced off the park after just 10 minutes of Spain's Euro 2016 qualifier against Luxembourg with an ankle injury.

Rooney and Carrick fit to play: Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick are both fit for Manchester United's trip to Everton. The duo missed England's recent European Championship qualifiers but manager Louis van Gaal insists both are fit for Saturday's EPL clash. Midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is available even though he suffered an injury in the warm-up for Germany's match against the Republic of Ireland. Ander Herrera and Marcos are also ready to feature, but defender Paddy McNair is out for a month due to liver damage. Winger Ashley Young will be unavailable after suffering a knock in training.

Leverkusen's captain is out: Bayer Leverkusen will be without captain Lars Bender for Saturdays's game at Hamburg. The midfielder picked up an ankle injury in training, joining two full-backs Roberto Hilbert (knee) and Wendell (suspended) on the sidelines. Midfielder Kevin Kampl is also a doubt following a throat infection that ruled him out of playing for his country this week. On a brighter note, Omer Toprak and Tin Jedvaj returned to first-team training after long injury absences.

Six absences for Paris SG: Angel Di Maria, Marco Verratti, Blaise Matuidi, David Luiz, Kevin Trapp and Presnel Kimpembe are all unavailable this weekend following an international break that took its toll. Verratti (calf), Luiz (knee), Trapp (thigh) and Kimpembe (ankle) are all out injured, while Matuidi is suspended after an accumulation of yellow cards. Angel Di Maria has been left out of the squad for Saturday's Ligue 1 match at Bastia. The three-time defending champions did not give any reason for his absence.
