17 Oct 2015 14:45 Tottenham v Liverpool
This Saturday afternoon sees an entertaining looking affair, when Spurs host Liverpool at White Hart Lane. Kick Off 12:45 BST
Spurs have started this campaign in reasonable form, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side are coming off a 2-2 draw away at Swansea. Since losing 0-1 away at Old Trafford on the first day of the season, Spurs have now gone 7 Premier league games undefeated and currently they sit in 8th place on 13 points. Spurs' recent home record reads a strong looking W9, D4, L2.
When hosting teams of Liverpool’s stature, once again the North Londoners boast a good record that reads W7, D2, L1. Here Spurs can be backed at around 2.50. However I would certainly look to keep an element of the draw on your side and this option is available on the -0.0/0.5 goal handicap at around 2.15.
The recent head-to-head record at White Hart Lane slightly favours the home side and reads Spurs 3 wins, 0 Draws and Liverpool 2 wins.
The draw can be backed at around 3.60 and despite the recent head-to-head record my ratings suggest that this offers some very good value, this is also backed up by Spurs recent general form.
Liverpool come into this match under new manager Jurgen Klopp. After winning their opening 2 Premier League games they have now just won 1 of their last 6 and they are coming off a 1-1 draw away at neighbours Everton. Liverpool’s recent away record reads an average looking W6, D5, L4.
Despite their recent form, when facing teams of Spurs' grading Liverpool’s away record reads a decent looking W6, D2, L2. If you do fancy Liverpool to do well here then they can be backed on the Asian Handicap +0.0/0.5 goals at around 1.81.
As far as goals are concerned then the stats points to plenty. When looking at both sides' last 10 home and away matches to similar opposition, 13 of the 20 matches have seen 3 or more goals, whilst only 7 have seen 2 or less. When looking at the recent head-to-head matches all 5 have seen at least 3 goals scored. However on the flip side of this Liverpool have only seen 3 or more goals in 4 of their last 16 away games.
Here my ratings suggest value in Under 2.5 goals which can be backed at around 2.10.

17 Oct 2015 19:30 Watford v Arsenal
This Saturday evening promoted Watford host Arsenal at Vicarage Road. Kick-Off 17:30 BST.
Under manager Quique Flores, Watford have made a reasonable return to the Premier League. Although they have only won 2 of their opening 8 matches, the Hornets have also only lost 2 of these matches. Watford are coming into this match on the back of a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth and currently they sit in 12th place on 10 points. Watford’s recent home record reads W1, D2, L1.
Watford can be backed at around 6.25 and if you do fancy them to do well then you have the option of keeping the 1 goal loss on your side and they can be backed +1.0 goal at around 1.90.
This is the 1st time that the 2 sides have met in the Premier League in the last 5 seasons.
The draw can be backed at around 4.25 and this looks correctly priced.
Arsenal are coming into this match on the back of a very good 3-0 home victory to Manchester United and previous to this game they also beat Leicester 5-2 away from home. Currently the Gunners sit in 2nd place on 16 points, which is just 2 behind leaders Manchester City. Arsenal’s recent away record reads a strong looking W10, D2, L3.
When facing teams of Watford’s stature, Arsenal’s record reads again a strong looking W9, D1, L0 and they can be backed at around 1.61. If you do fancy Arsene Wenger’s side to do well here then their price can be enhanced by backing them on the Asian handicap -1.0 goal at around 2.05.
As far as goals are concerned then we have some mixed stats. When looking at Arsenal, 9 of their last 15 away games have seen 3 or more goals, whilst 5 of their last 10 visiting sides of Watford’s stature have seen 3 or more goals scored. When looking at Watford’s home stats this season then only 2 goals have been scored in all 4 matches. Here my ratings suggest some decent value backing Under 2.5/3.0 goals at around 2.00
This looks a good match up and my ratings suggest value both in the goal and match line. Looking at the goal line Watford have only scored 1 goal at home this season and as these matches have been against mid table opposition, it is hard to see them scoring against the elite. Under 2.5/3 goals looks to offer some decent risk v reward. Here Watford are coming up against an Arsenal side in good domestic form.
The Gunners relish these situations where they have now won 17 of the last 21 when visiting teams of Watford’s grading. The Gunners have also won 7 of their last 9 away at promoted sides, winning 5 by 2 or more goals, and so my recommended trade is Arsenal -1.0 goal at around 2.05.
This is a fascinating match up made more so by the appointment of Klopp. When assessing this game there are mixed messages coming across. When it comes to the match line, I just cannot separate these 2 sides. However Spurs do have a decent home record and my leaning would be to play it safe and back them off scratch 0 goals at around 1.80. For my trade, and despite the number of goals that have appeared in the recent head-to-head matches, my ratings are suggesting some decent value in the Under 2.5 goals, so my recommended trade is Under 2.5 goals at around 2.10.
18 Oct 2015 18:00 Newcastle v Norwich
This Sunday afternoon sees an entertaining looking fixture when Newcastle face Norwich at St James Park. Kick-Off 16:00 BST.
Newcastle have made an exceptionally poor start to the season, and here they are coming off a 1-6 defeat away at Manchester City. Indeed Steve McClaren’s side are yet to win a match this season and they have lost 5 of their last 7 Premier League matches. Currently Newcastle sit bottom of the table on 3 points and their recent away record reads W3, D5, L7.
When hosting sides of Norwich’s stature Newcastle’s record reads an average looking W4, D3, L3 and it should be noted that they have not won any of their last 4 matches. Here they can be backed at around 2.62. If you do fancy Newcastle to do well here then your best option is certainly to keep the draw on your side, and they can be backed +0.0 goals off scratch on the Asian handicap at around 1.87.
The recent head-to-head record at the St James Park favours the home side and reads Newcastle 3 wins, 0 Draws and Norwich 0 wins.
The draw can be backed at around 3.45 and this looks to offer some value.
Norwich are coming into this game on the back of a 1-2 home defeat to high flying Leicester. Norwich under the guidance of Alex Neil have started the season in positive fashion and currently they sit in 13th place on 9 points. Norwich’s recent Premier League away record reads W1, D5, L9. However it should be noted that they have only lost once away from home this season in 4 matches.
When facing teams of Newcastle’s grading, Norwich’s away record is again poor and reads W1, D3, L6 and they can be backed at around 2.90.
Looking at the goal line then we are presented with some very mixed stats. When looking at both sides' last 10 home and away matches to similar opposition we see that 10 games have seen 3 or more goals scored, and 10 have seen 2 or less scored. When looking at the general stats 6 of Newcastle’s last 9 home, and 3 of Norwich’s last 4 away have seen 3 or more goals. My ratings suggest that there is some small value in the Over 2.5 line which can be backed at around 1.90.
This is a tricky game to analyse as Norwich do look a completely different outfit to the one that was in the Premier League last time around. Here my ratings suggest value in the overs line and this looks a decent shout when looking at Norwich’s early away form.
For my trade I am going to go with the home side, who due to their recent poor run have now become value. They have a decent record hosting Norwich, and also despite not winning at home this season they have been extremely competitive when facing Chelsea, Arsenal & Southampton. Also when facing promoted sides in their last 12 home games their record reads W7, D1, L4. Here I expect the home side to at least avoid defeat and my recommended trade is Newcastle +0.0 goals at around 1.85.
19 Oct 2015 22:00 Swansea v Stoke
This Monday evening sees a Premier League fixture when Swansea entertain Stoke City at the Liberty Stadium. Kick-Off 20:00 BST.
Compared to last season, Swansea have started this campaign in fairly modest fashion. Garry Monk’s side have now only won 1 of their last 6 Premier league games, and are coming off an entertaining 2-2 draw at home to Spurs, and currently they sit in 11th place on 10 points. Swansea’s recent home record reads a reasonable looking W6, D5, L4. It should also be noted that Swansea have only lost 1 of their last 8 home matches.
When hosting sides of Stoke’s stature Swansea’s record is resilient and reads W5, D4, L1 and Swansea can be backed at around 2.07.
The recent head-to-head record at the Liberty Stadium certainly favours the home side and reads Swansea 3 wins, 1 Draw and Stoke 0 wins.
The draw can be backed at around 3.40 and this looks to offer some decent value and should be given some serious consideration. Especially when looking at both sides recent form to similar opposition.
After not winning in their opening 6 Premier League matches, Mark Hughes side have now won their last 2 matches on the bounce, and are coming off a 1-0 victory away at Aston Villa. Currently they sit in 14th place on 9 points and their recent away record reads W4, D6, L5.
When facing teams of Swansea’s grade Stoke’s away record reads a mediocre looking W1, D5, L4 however despite this Stoke can be backed at around a value looking 4.10. If you do fancy Stoke to do well here then you can keep the draw on your side and Stoke can be backed on the +0.5 goal handicap at around 1.88.
When looking at the goal line then the stats suggests value in the Unders. When looking at both sides' last 10 home and away games to similar opposition, only 4 of the 20 matches have seen 3 or more goals, 10 have seen 2 goals and 6 have seen 1 or less goals scored. My ratings suggest value in Under 2.0/2.5 goals which can be backed at around 1.96.
This looks an interesting matchup. Here all of the stats and trends suggest that the probability is Stoke will not win this game. However the stats and ratings also suggest they may not lose it either. Here when facing similar opposition 10 of the 20 matches have ended up all square, and the draw offers some very value at around 3.40. Rather than back Stoke on the +0.5 goal handicap, I am going to suggest turning to the goal line and backing Under 2.0/2.5 goals. With only 1 of Swansea last 10 hosting the mid table sides and 5 of Stokes last 16 away seeing 3 or more goals, then my recommended trade is Under 2.0/2.5 goals at around 1.96.
