Gomez out: Liverpool starlet Joseph Gomez has given new manager Jurgen Klopp a slight selection headache after picking up an injury during England U21's win over Kazakhstan. With only two days left, the 18-year-old is in a race against time to be available for selection as Klopp aims to find his best XI for the campaign. Gomez was signed by Liverpool from Charlton Athletic during the summer, with the defender starting the Reds first five league games as well as a couple of Europa League fixtures.
Benteke out: Jurgen Klopp will have to manage his first game as Liverpool boss without Christian Benteke after the striker was ruled out of the side's trip to Tottenham this Saturday. The Belgium striker has yet to resume training following the hamstring injury which has kept him sidelined for the Reds' past four matches. Captain Jordan Henderson and Jon Flanagan remain out but Klopp will be bolstered by the return of a number of players from international duty.
Man Utd's concern: Paddy McNair is due to leave hospital in Finland today, but faces two more weeks on the sidelines after suffering liver damage. The 20-year-old spent three nights under observation in Helsinki after the injury forced him to leave the pitch early in the second half of Northern Ireland's 1-1 draw with the Finns on Sunday. United are already without left-back Luke Shaw, who is out for six months with a broken leg, and they are waiting to see if Marcos Rojo is fit to return after a hamstring injury when they face Everton on Saturday.
Romero will miss the rest of the MLS: Montreal Impact announced that midfielder Andres Romero will miss the remainder of the season following an ACL tear to his right knee. Romero suffered the injury on Saturday in Colorado, during the first half of the game against the Rapids. After a breakout 2014 season when he was named team MVP, Romero had a steady 2015 season with the Impact. In 27 regular-season games, he scored four goals and collected four assists.
Caceres sidelined: Defender Martin Caceres could miss Juventus' clash with Inter after the Uruguayan was injured by teammate Juan Cuadrado while on international duty. Caceres hit the headlines last month when he was suspended by the Italian champions for crashing his Ferrari in Turin. He was expected to rejoin Massimiliano Allegri's squad for Sunday's Serie A derby, but now Caceres faces more time on the sidelines.
Murinho to pay: Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has received a suspended one-match ban and been fined 50,000 pounds by the English FA for saying referees were afraid to award penalties to the Premier League champions. Mourinho admitted the misconduct charge following his comments after Chelsea's 3-1 home defeat by Southampton on October 3. On a brighter note, Chelsea forward Diego Costa will be available again versus Aston Villa having served a retrospective three-match suspension following his altercation with Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny at Stamford Bridge.
Wenger is not fearful: Arsene Wenger says Alexis Sanchez and the rest of Arsenal's international brigade should be fit to face Watford this weekend. "From the internationals we only have positive news," Wenger said on the club's official website. "We are still waiting for (Joel) Campbell, Alexis and (David) Ospina to return, but they all texted back to say they are okay, so we just have to see if they were objective in their assessment."
Not entirely certain: Ola Toivonen is a major injury doubt for Sam Allardyce's opening game in charge of Sunderland at West Brom this weekend. Toivonen sustained a groin problem after coming off the bench to replace Ibrahimovic during Sweden's Euro 2016 qualifying win over Moldova on Monday night. Toivonen, who has started each of Sunderland's last five games, is now back on Wearside receiving treatment to the injury.
Modrid out: Real Madrid will be without midfielder Luka Modric for between 2 to 3 weeks after the extent of the muscle injury he suffered while on international duty with Croatia was confirmed on Wednesday. Modric suffered an injury playing against Bulgaria last week and at first it was thought the injury would not be enough to keep him out of league match to Levante this Saturday. However, test carried out by the club showed the injury is more serious than first thought. The club should be able to count on Sergio Ramos for this weekend after a shoulder injury kept him out of Spain's last two games, but Karim Benzema is also a doubt after becoming another victim of the international break.
