James is back for Madrid derby
James Rodríguez has recovered from injury sooner than expected and will be fit for this weekend’s Madrid derby. The Colombian midfielder has recovered from a thigh injury and will be available for the away trip to Atlético, should Benítez need him.
Benítez will have to decide whether to field the Colombian from the start or put him on after the break. That will depend on whether the Real Madrid boss has Gareth Bale at his disposal for the match at the Calderón. The Welshman appears to have recovered from a calf injury, but unlike James, he remains a doubt for the derby game.
Danilo and Sergio Ramos are in a similar situation. It is still unclear whether they will feature at the Calderón although the club remains optimistic that they will all be back in time for the clash against Atlético. Of course, it will depend on Benítez whether they finally play or not.
