England

Cazorla diagnosed with knee ligament damage: Arsenal have received a massive blow with midfielder Santi Cazorla being diagnosed with ligament damage on his knee. The initial assessment was for Cazorla to miss the Olympiacos game but scans have shown that the injury is much worse than feared, with chances of the midfielder missing months rather than days on the sidelines. The Gunners already have Arteta, Wilshere, Rosicky and Coquelin out through injury in that position.

Newcastle recall Williamson after Lascelles injury: Newcastle have recalled defender Mike Williamson from his loan at Wolves after an injury to Jamaal Lascelles. Williamson, 32, was due to remain with the Championship side until January but Lascelles suffered a minor hamstring injury at Crystal Palace on Saturday. Williamson has made only two League Cup appearances for the Magpies this term and played five matches for Wolves.

Scotland

Celtic suspend Stokes for 2 weeks: Celtic have suspended Anthony Stokes for two weeks in the wake of his Twitter outburst. The striker angered boss Ronny Deila and club officials prior to last Sunday's game when he used social media to vent his frustration at being left out of the squad having travelled up to the Highlands. The 27-year-old has been out of the top-team picture this season and this latest incident casts more doubt on his long-term future.

Germany

Bender undergoes surgery: Bayer Leverkusen will be without captain Lars Bender until the new year after the midfielder underwent successful ankle surgery. The 26-year-old last featured for Leverkusen as a substitute in their DFB-Pokal win over Viktoria Koln at the end of October.

A club statement read: "Lars Bender has successfully undergone surgery on his right ankle in a hospital in Basel on Tuesday. The Leverkusen captain will remain in Switzerland for a week and then start his recovery in Leverkusen. An operation had become necessary due to his ongoing problems. Bender will be unavailable for the remainder of 2015."

Spain

Real confirm Carvajal injury: Real Madrid have revealed that Dani Carvajal suffered a muscle injury during the team's 2-0 win over Eibar at the weekend. "Following the tests carried out on Dani Carvajal today in the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, the player has been diagnosed with a muscle injury on his left thigh. His condition will be evaluated," read a statement on the club's official website. Carvajal has only started six league games for Real Madrid this season and also missed out on a spot in the Spain squad earlier this month due to injury.
