Injuries' report for England

Others

Rooney fears allayed: Louis van Gaal calmed any injury fears over Wayne Rooney after the striker was replaced against Leicester City on Saturday. Rooney made way for Memphis Depay with 22 minutes still to play and the score at 1-1 - the first time this season United's skipper has been substituted with the scores level. "Wayne was a little bit injured," the United manager said. "You saw him limping. I also wanted to change a striker because they were not running in behind. I don't think he is injured for the next match."

McCarthy suffers groin injury: Everton midfielder James McCarthy is a doubt for Tuesday's Capital One Cup quarter-final against Middlesbrough with a groin injury. The Ireland international limped out of Saturday's 3-3 draw with Bournemouth on 68 minutes, and is now struggling to be fit for the trip to the North-East. "He over-extended his groin and couldn't carry on," manager Roberto Martinez said. "It's a concern for us because he is not the kind of player who would come off for anything. We will assess him and make a decision about Tuesday."

Sakho injury concerns Bilic: West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has concerns over an injury Diafra Sakho picked up against West Brom. The striker immediately signalled he was unable to carry on after having a shot blocked in Sunday's 1-1 draw with the Baggies. "That worried me more than the result. I don't know if it's too early before the scan but it looks like a muscle injury," said Bilic. "It's a big blow for us after Enner Valencia and Dimitri Payet." Attacking midfielder Payet was ruled out for three months with an ankle injury in early November. Meanwhile, Valencia has been out since July after suffering an ankle injury in a Europa League qualifying match.

Arsenal wait on injured trio: Arsenal are waiting to discover the severity of injuries to Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Laurent Koscielny following the 1-1 draw at Norwich. Sanchez, who picked up a hamstring niggle late on in the 3-0 win against Dinamo Zagreb in midweek, started at Carrow Road, but was substituted in the second half holding the same hamstring after stretching for the ball in the Norwich penalty area. Defender Koscielny was replaced by Gabriel early on following a hip injury, while Cazorla finished the match but was suffering with a knee problem in the final moments following an earlier knock, and could not be substituted with Arsenal having used all three replacements.
