Klopp plays down Sturridge injury: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has played down Daniel Sturridge's injury, insisting that the forward must learn to tell the difference between "serious pain and what is only pain". The 26-year-old striker was set to return from a knee injury in the Europa League clash against Bordeaux on Thursday but was missing from the teamsheet after complaining of pain in his foot in training. Sturridge underwent further tests on the problem on Friday and Klopp has moved to calm fears over another lengthy absence. "It's not that serious," Klopp told reporters. It's completely normal after a long injury."
Lingard doubtful: Manchester United's Jesse Lingard is a doubt for the clash against Leicester City after picking up an injury against PSV Eindhoven in midweek. The 22-year-old reportedly felt his hamstring tighten in the closing stages of Man United's 0-0 draw against the Dutch outfit. Lingard had a scan on the injury on Thursday and is now rated as 50-50 to feature against the Premier League leaders. Michael Carrick is also rated doubtful, while Ander Herrera and Phil Jones will definitely miss the match.
Aguero substituted as precaution: Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero was substituted as a "precaution" on Saturday and is not injured, according to manager Manuel Pellegrini. Aguero, recently out for six weeks with a hamstring injury, seemed to turn his ankle before being taken off after 63 minutes of a 3-1 win over Southampton. "I spoke with Aguero before the game and we said he would play 65 minutes," Pellegrini said. "He has a kick on his heel, but nothing important. He has played three games in a row and that's why he came off. It's important to see with the medical staff how he recovers from this game. It's hopefully nothing serious."

Tiago suffers broken leg: Atletico Madrid have been dealt a huge blow as the club confirmed influential Portuguese midfielder Tiago suffered a broken leg in 1-0 win over Espanyol on Saturday. The former Chelsea man was stretchered off in severe pain after an innocuous looking clash with Marco Asensio just after the half hour mark. "Tiago suffered a non-displaced fracture in the third section of the right tibia," Atletico said via their official Twitter feed. However, the club refused to confirm how long the 34-year-old is expected to be sidelined.
Jese injured in training: Real Madrid's preparation for La Liga game in Eibar have been disrupted by an injury to forward Jese Rodriguez. The 22-year-old has been ruled out of the game after breaking down in a training session. Unfortunately for Jese, the early reports suggest this may be a recurrence of a previous serious injury, per AS: "The Canary Islands winger took the knock to the same knee that was operated on in March 2014 and that sidelined him until the following December."
Barcelona boosted by Mascherano return: Barcelona's Javier Mascherano has recovered from a thigh problem and is back in Luis Enrique's squad for the visit of Real Sociedad. The Argentina international picked up the injury during Barca's 4-0 Clasico rout of Real Madrid last week and subsequently missed Tuesday's 6-1 Champions League drubbing of Roma. Mascherano could come into the XI as a direct replacement for midfielder Sergi Roberto, who has been left out after suffering an ankle problem against Roma
