Spain

Sergi Roberto to miss Sociedad match: Sergi Roberto will miss Saturday's match against Real Sociedad with an ankle injury. Barcelona confirmed that the 23-year-old midfielder sustained the injury during the 6-1 UEFA Champions League demolition of Roma, where he was replaced by Adriano after 64 minutes. There was more encouraging news for coach Luis Enrique as Andres Iniesta returned to play a full part in training having sat out the Roma match on the bench as a precaution.

Real Madrid confirm Varane thigh injury: Central defender Raphael Varane has been diagnosed with a right thigh injury that will likely sideline him for three weeks, leaving coach Rafa Benitez with a depleted back line. The France international limped off the field in the 32nd minute of Real Madrid's 4-3 UEFA Champions League win against Shakhtar Donetsk. With Sergio Ramos and Marcelo out, Benitez will likely rely on Pepe and Nacho as central defenders.

England

Hart ruled out for 10 days: Manchester City will be without Joe Hart for Saturday's EPL match against Southampton. The goalkeeper limped off with a muscle injury in the latter stages of Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Juventus. Speaking at a pre-match news conference, manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that he expects Hart to be out for around 10 days, which would also rule the 28-year-old out of next Tuesday's League Cup quarter-final against Hull City and the subsequent Premier League trip to Stoke City. Pellegrini also confirmed that he expects Wilfried Bony and David Silva are back in the squad list for Saturday's game.

Haidara ruled out for 4 months: Newcastle left-back Massadio Haidara is facing knee surgery which will rule him out of action for four months. Haidara will go under the knife next week to repair knee ligaments damaged in training earlier this week. The 22-year-old had only just returned to full training last week after suffering a groin injury while playing for the U21s at the start of the month. Haidara joins Tim Krul, Steven Taylor, Gabriel Obertan and Cheick Tiote on the sidelines.

Germany

Douglas Costa misses Hertha match: Bayern will be without winger Douglas Costa for this weekend's Bundesliga home match against Hertha Berlin. The Brazilian international has muscular problems in his right thigh. Costa suffered the injury during Tuesday's 4-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Olympiacos, where the 25-year-old put his side in the lead.

France

Pastore misses Troyes game: Paris Saint-Germain forward Javier Pastore will miss Saturday's Ligue 1 visit of Troyes after coach Laurent Blanc confirmed the Argentina international was suffering with an adductor problem. Pastore has endured a difficult run of injuries this term and has not featured for PSG in over a month following conjunctivitis and a calf problem. Saturday's match will be PSG's first in Paris since the terror attacks in the French capital earlier this month.
