Nasri undergoes surgery: Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has undergone surgery and will be out of action for up to six months. Nasri confirmed the successful operation on his hamstring via social media on Saturday: "Just had surgery everything went really well hopefully will be back in 4 to 6 months." The 28-year-old France international has been sidelined since early October but suffered a further setback in training. Nasri has made seven appearances for City this season.
Klopp plays down Coutinho injury concerns: Liverpool are sweating over the fitness of Philippe Coutinho after he picked up an injury in the 4-1 win at Manchester City. He had to be replaced on 68 minutes after picking up what appeared to be a muscle strain. The full extent of the damage has yet to be revealed but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is hopeful it is nothing serious and hopes to have him back sooner rather than later. "I hope he is well enough," Klopp said after the game. "He showed not a real injury, it was a little bit of cramp, he felt something. I hope that's all, he will be very important for us, everybody can see he's in really good shape in this moment."

Alaba in doubt for Olympiacos clash: Bayern star David Alaba could miss the Bavarians' final Champions League clash with Olympiacos after pulling up injured in Saturday's 3-1 win at Schalke 04. The Austrian left-back was replaced by Rafinha in the 83rd minute after picking up an ankle injury. Bayern team doctor Volker Braun has been working intensively with the 23-year-old, but whether he will recover in time to face the Greek champions on Tuesday remains in doubt.
Mascherano escapes muscle injury: Barcelona have confirmed Javier Mascherano did not suffer damage to his thigh muscle during Saturday's Clasico win. The Argentina international collided with James Rodriguez in the first half of Barca's 4-0 victory and had to be replaced by Jeremy Mathieu after 27 minutes. Mascherano remains a doubt to face Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday and Real Sociedad next Saturday, but the club say the injury to his right leg is largely superficial.
Arsenal to be without 8 injured players: Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal are likely to be missing eight players for their crunch Champions League clash. Midfielders Francis Coquelin and Mikel Arteta are both set to be unavailable after hobbling off in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at West Brom. Coquelin left The Hawthorns on crutches and is sweating on results of a knee scan amid fears he could be out up to three months, while Arteta injured a calf.
