Blaszczykowksi out for a month: Fiorentina winger Jakub Blaszczykowski will be out of action for up to a month after picking up an injury during international duties. The 29-year-old was forced off the pitch just 12 minutes into Poland's 4-2 victory over Iceland, with initial fears that the winger may have torn a crucial ligament. However, his injury is less severe than originally thought.

Vardy in race to be fit for the Newcastle match: Jamie Vardy faces a race to be fit for Leicester City's trip to Newcastle this weekend. The 28-year-old England striker was still troubled by the hip injury that ruled him out of the defeat in Spain. He had been described by England boss Roy Hodgson as 50-50 to face France tomorrow at Wembley. Vardy has scored 12 goals in his first 12 games of the season, including 11 in his last nine consecutive games, and could equal Ruud van Nistelrooy's Premier League record of scoring in 10 consecutive games at St James' Park.
Klopp given injury boost: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's injury worries have been alleviated slightly after both James Milner and Jordon Ibe returned to training. Milner pulled out of the England matches against Spain and France with a hamstring problem. Ibe, meanwhile, withdrew from the England Under-21 squad with a bruised knee but it is understood that both took part in full training on Monday with the squad members not involved in internationals.
Sanchez faces injury worry: Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of Alexis Sanchez, who has picked up a calf injury ahead of Chile's game with Uruguay. A decision has yet to be made on whether Sanchez will take to the field this evening and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will be hoping he sits out the clash. "Alexis has a pain in his calf and we will wait for him until the last minute to see if he is ready to play," Chile manager Jorge Sampaoli said.

Negredo undergoes surgery for appendicitis: Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo has undergone emergency surgery for acute appendicitis. No comment was made on how long Negredo was expected to be out for, but reports suggest he will be sidelined for at least a month. It has been a frustrating season for the former Manchester City striker, who has not featured for Valencia since a 3-1 defeat against Athletic Bilbao on October 3. Negredo criticised head coach Nuno Espirito Santo in an interview following a slow start to the season, although talk of a rift was played down.

Beric faces long lay off after surgery: St. Etienne striker Robert Beric faces a long layoff after surgery on a cruciate knee ligament injury. The Slovenia international was injured in Nov. 8's feisty Ligue 1 derby against Lyon. A statement on the club's website on Monday evening read: "Robert Beric had an operation on Monday morning at the Clinique Mutualiste Chirurgicale in St Etienne, following a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The operation went well and ASSE wish him a successful recovery."

Delph withdraws from England squad: Fabian Delph has raised further injury concerns after pulling out of the England squad to face France at Wembley on Tuesday. The Manchester City midfielder was unable to train, with the FA giving no reason other than that he was "unfit". Delph played for England in Friday's 2-0 defeat by Spain, but was replaced by Delle Alli after 63 minutes, with no signs of a problem. Delph joins Jamie Vardy and Michael Carrick on the sidelines.
