The 21-year-old suffered the injury during France Under-21s' win over Northern Ireland on Thursday night. A Villa statement read: "Aston Villa can confirm defender Jordan Amavi has been ruled out for the rest of the 2015-16 Premier League season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The 23-year-old came off the bench with 10 minutes remaining in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Brazil but could now be a doubt for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Colombia. Ole report the former Roma star was unable to train properly after feeling some muscular discomfort on Sunday 15 November. There is no indication yet of the severity of the issue but Tottenham and Mauricio Pochettino will be hopeful it is nothing serious, with key fixtures against London rivals West Ham United and Chelsea awaiting.
