Spain (Primera Division)

Benzema to miss Sevilla: Karim Benzema will miss Real Madrid's game at Sevilla on Sunday as he completes his recovery from a hamstring injury, head coach Rafael Benitez has confirmed. The 27-year-old striker is back in the Spanish capital after a dramatic week saw him charged with complicity in an attempt to blackmail and participating in a criminal conspiracy as part of an investigation into an alleged sex-tape plot involving France team-mate Mathieu Valbuena. Benitez also confirmed Gareth Bale would be back in the squad to face Sevilla and hailed the return to fitness of James Rodriguez, who was an unused substitute in the Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday. Kiko Casilla will be Madrid's goalkeeper after Keylor Navas struggled to shake off a groin problem this week.

Gimenez out with hamstring injury: Atletico Madrid have confirmed defender Jose Gimenez has suffered a hamstring injury. Gimenez had a scan on his right leg on Friday and the club have now revealed he could face a spell on the sidelines. "Jose Gimenez had a scan which revealed that the young Uruguayan has suffered a myofascial injury (grade II) on the rear quadriceps of his right thigh," a club statement read. "His progress will be monitored."

England (Premier League)

Coutinho fit for Palace clash: Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho is fit for their clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday after recovering from a minor hamstring problem. Coutinho was an unused substitute during Thursday night's Europa League victory at Rubin Kazan, along with Martin Skrtel, Lucas Leiva and Adam Lallana. Manager Jurgen Klopp says all four players are in contention to start at Anfield.

Valencia needs operation: After losing the likes of Luke Shaw and Morgan Schneiderlin Manchester United have been dealt another blow as Antonio Valencia could now undergo an operation. The Manchester United winger suffered a thigh injury during the 0-0 draw against fierce rivals Manchester City. Louis Van Gaal is already missing key players in almost every position though injuries and Valencia is the latest name on the list. Valencia's injury could not have been worse timed as the versatile winger operates as a makeshift right back as and when the manager needs him to.
